The thought provoking question…”Does life imitate Art…or does Art imitate life”, can conjure up many scenarios of which you could use for comparisons…Let’s look at Health and Wellness… Think about the movies that have medical scans, and devices which monitor ones cardiac output, blood pressure, and quite frankly virtual physical examinations and treatment interactions. Well…it is happening…The world of wearable technologies are becoming mainstream. More and more people are using devices, such as Fitbit, Jawbone, Garmin, Polar…etc. to measure activity sleep and nutrition. Companies such as Apple are currently making a big push to lead the innovation into the realm of health. And of course with the changes in Healthcare, and the Affordable Care Act, it is my belief that within the next five years, we will see virtual based consultations. Physicians and Health practitioners will have the ability to review real time data of one’s health. Also the Health and fitness industry will integrate into this market to help enable the sharing of data between machines, wearable technology and medical practitioners There are an increasing number of physicians that are receptive to the possibilities of utilizing digital technology into their practices. Also, with ideas on how to collaborate with healthcare companies, other medical practitioners and the Health & Fitness Industry to explore and develop such technologies to help patients who suffer from chronic illness. 1). People will take healthcare more into their own hands. 2).Virtual or online visits will increase dramatically 3). Health apps and wearable technology will be a vital part of self-management and communication between medical professionals, patients, and health clubs, healthcare. Jetsons…here we come!
